Star Trek, Battlestar and a Broken Arm

It’s been like a kid all over again….

When I grew up Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica were the main two Sci-fi shows on TV, when I was growing up I also used to fall over and hurt myself a lot, now almost 20 years later and nothing much has changed.

Let me start with the serious stuff -

Last weekend I went to see the new Star Trek movie. Now I’m no Trekkie but it was the best movie I have seen this year (and probably last year too). I didn’t know what to expect but from the trailer, the buzz and the fact JJ Abrams was directing I was expecting to enjoy the movie. Prior to this I had only seen one Star Trek movie, that being Nemesis, which again I enjoyed.

If you haven’t seen it I would highly recommend it. I am even considering going to see it again this weekend - that’s how much I enjoyed it.

While on a spaceship sort of note I finally purchased a HDMI cable yesterday to hook my Vaio upto my Plama screen so I could watch Battlestar off the region 1 DVD’s I borrowed from a friend. I have been meaning to watch these for at least 6 months now and finally made the decision due to my current situation…..

….oh yeah, did I mention I broke my arm a couple of weeks ago?

This is why there has been almost a month between updates and why my “project” is getting now where fast. I think I can sum it up best with this simple equation:

spare money + relationship break up = too much beer + broken arm

I am well on the mend though and my arm being in a sling is not going to stop me blogging and watching Battlestar any longer.

Haven’t had the chance to watch Startrek yet. But all of my friends who’ve seen the movie are raving about it! I’ll have to watch that sometime soon.
